Question

RequiredValidatorField doesnt work

I am trying to add requiredValdiator. When I am about to choose ControltoValidate there is nothing to choose. Why? I got two input fields that should be visible there.
The page on my side that I am trying to get working is: login.aspx

use asp textboxes

Hi

You have to add asp:TextBox, not normal html input fields. The RequiredField Validator works only with server-side controls.

See my sample below

you have to make your controls(Texboxes) as server controls so add runat="server" attribute

Here's the code. You can handle the Button.Click method in the Code Behind, so you don't need a hidden "isSubmitted" field.

ok. So I have added this and now it shows up....BUT when running the page it doesnt activates....it is just runnint on to the next page. I havent entered anything in the text box and press my button and it just continoue......shouldnt it react here?

Oh, I think the problem is the <form> tag, you have to use a server-side form:
Replace <form method="post" action=admin.aspx"> with <form id="frmMain" runat="server">.

Nope. No it start complaining I got A page can have only one server-side Form tag. on my master-page.

I add my hole project again. Easier for you to see it then.

One thing. I added a new button and this made the required field to show up but then it directly went on to the next page (of couse this has with the form to do)
