Create a Data Access Class or Layer in VB.NET 2005?

I would like to store all of my data access code within 1 class if possible.

I'm using VB.NET 2005 and MSSQL 2005 Express.  I have an MDI application, and to keep the explanation of my program simple, I will only be talking about data access from 1 of the child forms (childform1.vb)

Let's say the child form has 2 text boxes and I would like to store the data when the Save button is clicked on the form.

Here's the working code I'm using and it has been updated to use the form name ("frmQE." as opposed to "Me.")...

Again, the above example works; however, It's becoming difficult to manage the data access code throughout my program and I would like to move this code out of the childform.vb and place it in it's own class.  Then when I need to access  it, I would like to call if from childform.

My Questions:
1.  Is this what you would do?  i.e. are there better ways to keep all of my data access code in 1 simple location?
2.  What is the code needed on childform1 to call the class?
3.  What is the code needed within the class to make it visible to all child forms?
4.  Any other suggestions or tips you might offer?
