Any suggestion in creating this type of software.

I am going to create a library system or a book system.

Question:

In creating this software:

1) Do I need to use the Dewey Decimal Classification system or the Library of Congress classifications?

2) Does the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system or the Library of Congress classification is copyrighted?

3) Which is better to use the Dewey Decimal Classification system or Library of Congress classification system?

4) If thoose two were copyrighted... is there any other method or system of classifying books? Which is not copyrighted?

Please give me some insight or suggestions how I could effectively classify books.
