The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Clickonce - Temp cert up, what now?

Asked by jdhackett in Microsoft Visual Basic.Net, .NET

When you deploy an app, you get a temporary cert. This cert is valid for one year. If you deploy afer the year, you have to create a new cert. Which I did. Then I published.
Of course, this prevents all users from getting into the program. As the user launches the program, it will check for a new version. The new version has a different cert, so the user will get a message like
"The deployment identity does not match the subscription."
This particualr app is only on a few pcs, so I can fix it by removing the old version and installing the new version.

However, I don't fancy doing that for my larger programs! A few of them have certificates which are up soon. As far as I can tell, they'll work away until I try to deploy a new version after the year is up.

I'm considering buying a Certificate that I can use with my programs.
All these programs will only be used internally in the organsiation. Some are on a few pcs, others on around 200 pcs. If it spares me having to do a re-install every year, it will be money well spent.

If I do buy, can I then use that with all my programs? Or must I get a Cert per program?
I'm open to other suggestions, if there is something better I should be doing.
Thanks
