How to close a MessageBox automatically after a few seconds ?

I'm looking to display information in a MessageBox with VB.Net 2005 and would like to close the MessageBox with code rather than to force user to click OK button.

Is there a way to close this MessageBox after a few seconds have passed?

you could pop up a form that looks like a MsgBox, and write code to close (Unload or Hide) it using the Application .OnTime method

You can just use a Timer, and send the Enter key so the OK button is pressed:

I should have been more clear.

I have a button click event that opens this InputBox.

When OK button is click for this InputBox, that when I do my validation and would like to show a messagebox for a few second indicating status of the transaction.

Dim Input_EmpID As String = InputBox("", "Scan Employee Badge", "")
TA_Start(Input_EmpID)

I'm thinking I can adapt VBRocks code to be hooked to this InputBox click OK event rather than my initial button to open this InputBox.

Am I on the right path?

However, I have 1 question: Do you intend for "TA_Start(Input_EmpID)" to process while the MessageBox is being displalyed? Or do you want it to process first, then display the MessageBox? Or do you want the MessageBox to be displayed first, then have it process?
