My sample was assuming that your menu has an ID = Menu1, that's why:
Protected Sub Menu1_MenuItemClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.
Try replacing my code with this (see how the handler name matches and how it's not declared explicitly):
Protected Sub MenuItemClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.
