Not sure why, I have deleted the module and re-created it, closed VB studio and rebooted... to no avail.

Actually, disregard the previous statement. The problem is that you are trying to call ExecuteReader in line 12 and there is no open connection. You cannot open the connection directly in a module (you would need to create a function/sub). Open the connection from within a function/sub and then execute the reader once the connection is open:

Lines 5 - 7 are uninitialized in your module. You are probably getting a null reference exception because those particular values have not been given a value before you attempt to access them.
