thanks for the link. I managed to use that code and get a signal to the printer but it just prints random symbols and not the text i ask it to...
any further help?

i am trying to write a simple VB.NET application to print to a PosiFlex thermal receipt printer.
i connected the printer and installed the drivers correctly but am at a loss as to how to print to it.
having a look in the device manager, it is connected as COM 9... that might help?!
The printer is the PosiFlex PP-8000U connected via USB
any advice would be greatly appreciated!

you have to use the System.IO.SerialPort class, in order to open the serial port and send raw strings to the printer. /KB/system /Serialpor t_COM.aspx
