Browse All TopicsHello,
I am looking for an example of how to use multi-threading / asynchronous tcp sockets to listen on a specific port and accept incoming connections. Something that can dynamically add and remove sockets from an array (or similar structure) would be ideal as the number of incoming connections will vary. Is anyone aware of an example that illustrates how this could be done? I will also have a user interface for this program and would like that to be contained in a different thread so screen updates, etc. can be provided in a more responsive method.
Thanks in advance,
Rite Eh

I would have to say that most implementations of TCP Socket Servers work in the fashion you described.

In order to change the included code to be multi-threaded, all you would have to do is loop these statements:
readThread = New Thread(AddressOf RunServer)
readThread.Start()
I would do something like this:
Dim lstTCPThreads As New List(Of System.Threading.Thread)
for i as int16 = 0 to 10
readThread = New Thread(AddressOf RunServer)
readThread.Start()
lstTCPThreads.add(readThre
