Question

I need/want my default value for a datetimepicker to be nothing or empty. How do I do that?

Friends,

I want the datetimepicker that comes with VB.net to be able to default to nothing.  i.e. the text to be empty.

If I say, datetimepicker.Value = Nothing

it just defaults to today's date...

If this isn't possible, is there another control out there that will?

Here's how I am doing it...

If the value from the data source is null...

                        DTPMaintExpireDate.Value = TempValue 'GetStandardDateFormat(TempValue)
                        SetMyCustomFormat(DTPMaintExpireDate)

                        DTPMaintExpireDate.Format = DateTimePickerFormat.Custom
                    End If    

Then, if a date is picked...

Use ShowCheckBox:
         datetimepicker= New DateTimePicker
         datetimepicker.ShowCheckBox = True

         datetimepicker.Checked = Vaue isnot nothing    'Grayed if not checked
         datetimepicker.Value = Value
