If cbOverride.Checked Then

Tried dbNull.value does not work because its not an object of string.
Here is how I insert to db
sql = "Update tblPermTask set dtCompleted = '" & dtClosed & "', strNotes = '" & Replace(txtNotes.Text, "'", "") & "', strClosedBy = '" & Closedby & "', bitOverride = " & Override & " " _
& "where intTaskId = " & lblHidden.Text & ""
InsertUpdatDelete(sql)
You probably shouldn't be writing inline sql like that, but regardless try this:
sql = "Update tblPermTask set dtCompleted = '" & dtClosed & "', strNotes = '" & Replace(txtNotes.Text, "'", "") & "', strClosedBy = '" & Closedby & "', bitOverride = "
If cbOverride.Checked Then
sql += "1 "
Else
sql += "null "
End if
sql += "where intTaskId = " & lblHidden.Text & ""
InsertUpdatDelete(sql)
You might be able to do it by declaring bitOverride as an object. This might also work for you...
Dim bitOverride as Object
If cbOverride.Checked Then
Override = 1
Else
Override = DBNull.Value
End If
I don't know if you were declaring bitOverride as an object to begin with, but that might also work with your original solution.
