Can anybody see what is wrong with my code?

        If Month(CDate(labelDateJOinedScheme.Text)) < Month(CDate(labelDOB.Text)) Or (Month(CDate(labelDateJOinedScheme.Text)) = Month(CDate(labelDOB.Text)) And Day(CDate(labelDateJOinedScheme.Text)) < Day(CDate(labelDOB.Text))) Then 
            AgeAtSchemeEntry = Year(CDate(labelDateJOinedScheme.Text)) - Year(CDate(labelDOB.Text)) - 1
        Else
            AgeAtSchemeEntry = Year(CDate(labelDateJOinedScheme.Text)) - Year(CDate(labelDOB.Text))

This is the VB6.0 way.
use the following instead:
CDate(labelDateJOinedScheme.text).Day

Do the same for year and month.

You are using old vb functions Month and day.

It would be better in .net to convert the dates in the text box to actual dates, assuming that the dates in the text boxes are valid dates, otherwise you may get errors.

dim JoinDate as Date = date.parse(labelDateJOinedScheme.Text)
dim dateOfBirth as date = date.parse(labelDOB.Text)
 
ageAtSchemeEntry = DateDiff(DateInterval.Year, dateofBirth, Joindate)

CDate() is still VB6 way ! You should use DateTime.Parse() method for that.

@ict-torquilclark,

You should also convert just one time and then use it as you need. Check the example:

        Dim dt1 As DateTime = DateTime.Parse(labelDateJOinedScheme.Text)
        Dim dt2 As DateTime = DateTime.Parse(labelDOB.Text)
 
 
        If dt1.Month < dt2.Month Or dt1.Month = dt2.Month And dt1.Day < dt2.Day Then
            AgeAtSchemeEntry = (dt1.Year - dt2.Year) - 1
        Else
            AgeAtSchemeEntry = (dt1.Year - dt2.Year)
        End If

Be sure to enclose that code in a Try/Catch block or using DateTime.TryParse instead...
