Strange that if a terminal has the original installed, that it does not pickup the update with Windows Update!

It still works on other machines, but on the machine in question, refuses to function.
Not only this one, but another as well.
I Have read through all the posts regarding MT etc., and the configuration is Machine:/x86, /MD, etc.
I have uninstalled and re-installed VSRedist package for VC2005
Machine is completely up-to-date iro patches, etc. Do not have IE8 on it
