StatusBarPanel for changing Window colors

I have a status bar and I want to add a panel to it to let users change the style of the form. To begin with, I want to change the form's background color. I was hoping for a few buttons within the status bar panel which when clicked will change the color based on the button clicked.

Is this something too much to ask for from a status bar panel? Is there any other way of achieving this?

No, that isn't too much to ask for the status bar.  I don't have 1.1, so I don't have the specific steps, but this is definitely doable.

A statusbar should display informations only.
For more interactivity you could use a ToolBar or a StripBar. Both can be used as a status bar but with more easy access functionnality.

Though it is possible to do it with a status bar as I have in one of my program to develop a list of history actions.

So make a choice and give us news back.
