Question

C#: Need help with public class

I am using the code below, the class works if I do not use the "public static System.IO.StreamWriter" line. I have tried both taking off the "static" keyword and replacing "static public" with the "private" keyword. Any assistance would be appreciated.

                = new System.IO.StreamWriter(@"C:\Documents and Settings\
                All Users\SDToolbox.log");

What I am looking for is help with

public static System.IO.StreamWriter LogFile = new System.IO.StreamWriter(@"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\SDToolbox.log");

I can't use the public static keyword combo or the private keyword.

i pasted that class in to a namespace in my project -- it compiles just fine.

Are you closing the StreamWriter LogFile before viewing the results?

Not sure what it was, must have been some other code I added. Went back to a previous state and worked fine. Still, not fair to dangle points and then take them away.
