Custom Components not appearing in toolbox

I am currently a student learning c#... I am creating a custom component for a traffic light... my problem is that after compiling, my custom component is not appearing in my toolbox on my home computer.. however, it IS appearing in the toolbox on my school computer... I am wondering why this is happening, and if I can change a setting to make it work properly on my home computer..

I am assuming I haven't given enough information at this point, so if you have any questions about my setup I will try to respond promptly... thankyou!

do you have the CUSTOM component in your same project or a different project ? does it involve any third party components ?

the custom component is in the same project... it does not involve third party components..  I actually asked my teacher about the issue today and he said he had never heard of this happening... it just seems very odd that it shows up on the school computer and not on my laptop...

Also: I tried a program that my teacher wrote in visual studio, and the custom component in his program did not show up in the toolbox either... previously I questioned whether I was doing it right, but now I know that it is a software related issue and not a programming issue...

it appears to be like that...
just also check one more thing...
if you have any CUSTOM grouping on your TOOLBOX then try to sett it to DEFAULT...i mean RESTORE DEFAULT and check...aaccidently removed groupings may also result in these issues....

I have noticed it too sometimes, in some versions or even in some projects created by the same version it doesnt appear. If you want to add some items to the tool box. Right click the tool box and say Add items and browse the dll. Do this only when you cant find out any way to make it appear automatically.

I'm not sure what you mean by this... I clicked on Reset Toolbox, but it did not help... I'm not sure if that is what you were referring to though...

When I asked my teacher about it this afternoon, he said that he had heard of this happening in the Student Edition (I think thats what it was), but I have the Professional Edition...

Thanks for the dll info, that will allow me to take that route temporarily...

if your custom control is not appearing on the tool box dont worry too much.
Right Click on the tool box and click on Choose Items
Choose Toolbox Items dialog appears
If your custom control is a .net control then browse for the addemble, select it and click ok. the custom control will appear in the toolbox.

Thankyou to everyone for your help!  TheLearnedOne knew the option that I did not know existed, and automatically made the custom component appear.. thanks again to everyone!
