DLL Refenece Issues in Visual Studio 2005

Asked by gascan10 in Visual Studio, DB2 Database

Tags: DLL Hell, Visual Studio, DB2, Microsoft, .NET 2.0

Hi,
I recently upgraded the DB2 Client on my machine. As a result of this IBM Installed 2 different versions of IBM.Data.DLL on my machine. And thats where all the issues started. Now my code is made to work with the 1.1 version of the DLL, but all my attempts to link 1.1 to my project have not provided correct results. The Project properties does show the that its linked with the right version. But when I compile it I get the error below. I have tried uninstalling the newer DLL from GAC but of no avail. Visual Studio still keeps mixing the references.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance
Mugdho
1:
Value of type 'IBM.Data.DB2.DB2Connection' cannot be converted to 'IBM.Data.DB2.DB2Connection'. Type mismatch could be due to mixing a file reference to 'C:\Program Files\IBM\SQLLIB\bin\netf20\IBM.Data.DB2.dll' in project '1_App_Code' with a file reference to 'C:\Program Files\IBM\SQLLIB\bin\netf11\IBM.Data.DB2.dll' in project <Project name>. If both assemblies are identical, try replacing these references so both references are from the same location.
