The "quick and dirty" way:
ext = "hello from MdiChild!"
' Assuming your MdiParent is "frmMain", and we are "in" an MdiChild Form:
Dim fm As frmMain = CType(Me.MdiParent, frmMain)
' now do something with "fm":
fm.ToolStripStatusLabel1.T
If you don't want the child to have to explicitly know the type of the MdiParent then make it raise a custom Event that the Parent subscribes to. If you want all MdiChildren to behave similarly then make them all Implement an Interface.
