Question

Error printing a string using 21h.

This code compiles fine, but generet the following error when I run it:

"Unhandled exception at 0x00401009 in consapp.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0xffffffff."

what am I doing wrong?

I think you can not call 16-bit things like int21h from flat (32-bit) model program.
To get output in flat model you need to use Win 32 API.
As an example of non-trivial Hello World take a look here:

or then use like this
