Get the total number of LowerCase,UpperCase, Numeric, NonNumeric and the sum of all the character

How can I get the total number of LowerCase and UpperCase letter of string. And also the total number of all Numeric and Ascii character. Finally the total number of characters of the string.

Example:

printf("Enter a string");
scanf(" ");

OUTPUT SUMMARY:

UpperCase: 4
LowerCase: 8
NumericCharacter: 6
AsciiCharacter: 12

Total character of the string: 18

This is obviously a homework question.  Please at least attempt to write some code so you can justify the dollars you'll receive after leaving college.

Some hints:

Use "%[^\n]" in you scanf (It will allow spaces in your string).
Have a look at the isupper, isascii, strlen, printf and strspn functions.

The shortest solution:

count = 0;
for (i=1; i < strlen(s); i++)
{
    count = count + isupper(s[i]);
}

Do the same for islower();

isupper/uslower return 1 (TRUE) for a positive answer - thus adding 1 to the solution.

Still - Do your homework ALONE !

You could also look at strpbrk, strspn and strcspn.  These are little used standard routines that will do some of the counting for you.
