The Solution Rating System

  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. How to receive a full sentence in input(scanf)?

Hi:
I am having difficulty to write the scanf function for receiving a sentence. This is what I wrote..
main()
{              
     char str[30];
     char ToFind[30];
     printf("Please enter a word: ");
     scanf("%s",&ToFind);
     printf("Please enter a sentence: ");
     scanf("%s",&str);
     printf("The word is \"%s\"\n", ToFind);
     printf("The sentence is %s \n", str);
}
and when I run the program......
for example:
     Please enter a word: the
     Please enter a sentence: the crab is big
     The word is "the"
     The sentence is the

How come the sentence I entered only display the first word (the) instead of full sentence (the crab is big)?
how do I fix this problem?
