How Can I browse a URL from C Program (http://XX.XX.XX.XX/App/Webform1.aspx)

Hi ,

              I am working in C. I want to know how to browse the url using C program , I tried using CURL option (to Browse the URL), I don`t know how to compile that CURL.

What do you mean by "browse". Just load the page, or have a page viewer like in a web browser ?


By CURL, I assume you mean libcurl ? (http://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/)

Look at the text files that come with the package (get the source archive).

But you probably don't need to compile it, since there are binary packages available for a wide range of platforms :

The term browse means hit the url .if i hit the URL can get the text file as the respose. Actually i worked the same curl code,  that application is running  perfectly in Linux OS based Point of sale device. now i wat to do the same in Linux Machine (PC) . I am getting some Compilation Error. (some Undefined reference to a function Even I included all the header files).

For run the application in POS device i will use Arm-linux-Gcc compiler .. to run in Pc i got the information like we have to compile using only Gcc compiler.
Even I tried the same executable file that compiled using arm-linux-gcc compiler in Linux PC i am getting cannot execute binary file error...

Including the header files is not sufficient. You need to link to the library too.

What is the exact error message you get ?

Executables are (generally) not portable. You need to re-compile it.

use this API function:
char url[2048] = "http://www.google.com";

URLDownloadToFile(NULL,url,directory,0,NULL);

don't forget #include <urlmon.h>
