I am working on compiling portable openssh on Tru64 UNIX 4.0F. Because of this, I need zlib and a third parth snprintf package because the OS we are using does not have snprintf or vsnprintf. I downloaded the recommended snprintf package (snprintf-2.2) and compiled it using just make without a problem. Make created snprintf.o in the /usr/local/snprintf-2.2. How do I get zlib to use the snprintf object file so it can locate the snprintf module and not issue the messages about vsnprintf not found?
