C++: How to port a console program to MFC-style windows application

Hi experts,
I'm doing a lot of C++ programming under Visual C++ (Visual Studio 2008 Pro) in DOS-style Win32 console mode. It's especially about processing huge amounts of data, so I haven't cared much about how it looked in the past.
I have no experience with Windows programming, i.e., how you create applications under MFC and so on.

What I'd like to be able to do is the following:
- Have a windows program with a white console in, plus a few buttons or menus above, like for saving the console's content in a text file.
- I'd like to be able to write to the windows console via output streams (ostreams, like cout).

So it would still look rather primitive, but still a lot more elaborate than my DOS console.
All I need is a simple windows console application framework to get me started.
