Browse All Topics I have completed Programming with C and I am now in Data Structures with C. I use Microsoft Visual C++ as a compiler. I am learning how to create header files and the code to go with the header files so that I can build some ADT's.
1) After I make a header file and store it as "filename.h", where do I place it so that the system can find it when I use a #include "filename.h" directive?
2) Also, when I give the definitions for the prototypes that are in the header file, do I store the definitions as "filename.cpp"? Then where do I place this file so that I can use the functions in it when I include the header file in another program??
Thanks

Hello browerjason,
It is simple. Do u already have those files??
If so Use Appwizard of VC++.
Select Win32 console application by selecting File->new select the projects tab.
In the next page select the radio button for Create empty project.
Now Appwizard has created an empty project for u.
In the menu project say select Add to Project under that files and add the required .h and .cpp files.
Build ur project and execute.
If any problem let me know.
If u want to create another file (.h or .cpp) Keep the current project open, select the new from File menu. In that select the tab Files. Select either C/C++ header file (for.h) file and C++ source file for (.cpp file)
good luck..
