COM Container for Netscape

I need a COM container for Netscape. The container should run over NT. The container should give full support for events, error handling and viewing.

Any links ?

I do not understand your question cleary.
But if you want netscape to host activex control then you can download plug-in from ncompasslab.com <-- I am not sure whether it was spelled correct.

Hi,
First I want to host COM objects and ActiveX controls over Netscape.

Second, I have done a lot of searching over the net today and found out that the product you were talking about is no longer availabe from ncompasslab (or whatever they are exactly named).

I did however find an OCX container plugin which is free and seems to work. If you know of a plugin which can load COM dlls as well as ActiveX controls it will be just what I need.

You write that you found an OCX container plugin that does what you need then i don't understand. Was it not for netscape? If it was it should be able to host dll's.

Nop ! Netscape plugins create a table of connections between file suffixes and the plugin which can use them. So what's hapenning that only when the class ID I use is contained inside an OCX file this plugin is loaded.

Moreover, OCXs are not the same as simple COM objects. Simple COM objects requires only that the operation syatem will have support APIs for instancing an object while OCXs are regarded as graphical objects and there for need special support from their container.

Among other OCXs support user interface events. While COM object can be imported directly to a console project in C++, OCXs can be loaded only be an OCX container.

Hi,
Have considered using Microsof J++ enhancement enabling import of ActiveX Controls and simple COM objects (there are created java class wrapper for it).
This is only a suggestion - I have no experience with it
