That's from the 3rd party lib:
StringArray(const char * const *data, int len);
that's all they gave me!

Browse All TopicsHi,
I have a third party library that wants to create some object called a StringArray like:
const char *labels[] = {"Jan", "Feb", "Mar", "Apr", "May", "Jun"};
// StringArray(const char * const *data, int len);
StringArray sa(labels, sizeof(labels)/sizeof(labe
of course I have no idea what the labels array could contain at runtime, maybe it will only have two months in it at runtime. In my case I have a vector of labels like:
vector<string> vLabels;
vLabels.push_back("apple")
vLabels.push_back("orange"
How could I construct a StringArray from that?
Thanks

I'd try this one:
char *tmp = (char *) malloc( vLabels.size() * sizeof( char * ) );
for( int idx = 0; idx < vLabels.size(); idx++ )
tmp[ idx ] = vLabels[ idx ].c_str();
StringArray sa( tmp, vLables.size() );
free( tmp ); // whether this is needed depends on whether StringArray makes a copy or reuses the given char** array
Maybe there is also an easier way to do this but my knowledge about STL is very limited so I don't know.

Where do you get the class StringArray from? Could you please post what contructors and methods it has?
