Variable Length Arguments

I'm designing an array class using template definition.

I've successfully implemented the following:

#include <cstdio>
#include <cstdarg>

template <class T>
class Array
{
private:
T* data;

public:
const int length;

Array(int size); // specified size
Array(int size, int args, ...); // size and number of args to follow
// other member functions
};

However I want to redesign the second constructor as:
Array(int size, const T& arg1, ...); // size and list of elements (at least one)

The problem is without a parameter to report the number of arguments in the variable length section I can't achieve my goal.

I tried doing something like:

template <class T>
Array<T>::Array(int size, const T& arg1, ...)
:length(size)
{
data = new T[length];

va_list ap;
va_start(ap, arg1);
try
{
int n=0;

while(n < length)
{
data[n] = va_arg(ap, T);
}
}
catch(...)
{

}
va_end(ap);
}

The exception if thrown, crashes the entire application. I would really like it if I am able accept a number of initializer elements less than or equal to the array size.

It would be greater if I could just accept only the elements without specifying a size argument. But I'll settle for size and elements for now.
