Browse All TopicsI am looking for a simple tool that would allow me to see the content of the TCP/IP binary protocol of a certain device. So, instead of connecting to that device directly, I would do so through this software tool.
Just had a look at Ethereal but it seems quite complicated and I just need something realy simple.

What do you mean by "instead of connecting to that device directly, I would do so through this software tool."?
These other products won't "connect" to the device. They do the same thing as Ethereal (replaced by Wireshark), they capture the traffic as you "connect" to the device directly.
What are you attempting to do? Ethereal is fairly simple and easy to use and breaks down network traffic clearly. At least to me.
And just FYI, if you are doing anything with Ethereal, it has been renamed Wireshark - http://www.wireshark.org/.
