The Solution Rating System
|
|
| With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating. - The Grade of the Solution
- The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
- The Number of Author and Expert Comments
- The Number of Experts Contributing
- The Feedback of the Community
Your Input Matters Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site. If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support. Thank you! |

Asked by LukaKrop in C++ Programming Language
Hello Experts,
I am writing a proxy/router service. My goal is to create connection between two IP's and route all traffic from one IP to another (and vice versa). For example I connect through internet to this proxy/router service and someone else also connects to this proxy/router service. Proxy reads my data and forwards them to the other guy. And of course the same goes the other way, from the other guy to me.
So in my code I create for each socket connection a separate thread. Then I create a list of active sockets. Each connected user sends first data with whom he wants interchange data. Proxy/router finds the target user in the list of active SOCKS. So the thread that receives data forwards all data to other user. For sending data he uses SOCK from the list.
If both users are in LAN everything is ok. The speed is ok and no problems. But as soon as one of the user connects from the Internet the speed drops. Ok I know thet the speed on LAN is much faster but I made a simple test. I connected directly to the other user and measured the speed (I have ADSL 10/1). Then I installed on one of my local machine the proxy. So we again connect to each other but this time through proxy. I was connecting in LAN and the other guy from the Internet. This time the speed was 1/2 the speed we connected directly...
Any ideas??
Thank you for your help and I am sorry for my bad English.
