The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

>> error: 'class student' has no member named 'next'

I guess that's a pretty straightforward error message ... no ?

03.26.2008 at 03:57PM PDT, ID: 21217296
I know that is a straightforward , but I'm trying the sample from a book and looks like I'm doing some wrong here.

Should I have a node class in my course.h?

I'm just trying to get a baisc linked list to work.

>> Should I have a node class in my course.h?

That's probably a good idea. Make sure that the node has a next pointer, as well as a student object in it.

Looks like courses have the students' linked-list.

Looks like you're needing temp = this -> next;

A bit of a bizarre layout/design imho - but then again, I'm on my second glass of wine now!

03.26.2008 at 04:14PM PDT, ID: 21217387
ok I made some change here is how it look.

I'm now only having a problem when I try to access the student class the show() function to display the information.

when I do the temp->show();

I get this error.

course.cpp:25: error: 'class course::Node' has no member named 'show'

Is show a member of the student class ? If so, make sure you call it for a student object (not for a node object)

03.26.2008 at 04:21PM PDT, ID: 21217424
yes, show is a member of the student class, and has the cout statement to display the data from the student class.

how can I call it from the student object?

Isn't the student object a member of the node object ? And isn't temp a pointer to a node object ?

03.26.2008 at 04:23PM PDT, ID: 21217438
yes.

So can I do something like this.

temp->data.show();
