What language is easiest to learn when starting out?

So I've been interested in learning to program for quite a while but I am really getting the urge to focus a little harder on it. I tried starting out in C++, not a good move as I quickly got frustrated with it. I know it's very versatile and can be used on most platforms but, honestly, it's a little difficult for a beginner. My ultimate goal is application programming and or game progamming. I looked into the Alice, which has almost the same syntax as Java, however, I'm looking for real world opinions. Please don't answer me with the obvious answers like "Take classes!". I would like opinions. I heard Pascal and VB are fairly simple... thoughts?Start Free Trial
