A DLL to login to database...
I am new so bear with me. I want to create a dll that will login to a database.(user enters name and password) then verifies that to the data base). I want to have the user login at the start of the application then pass this connection to other DLL's when called. (I want to avoid logging in again with the different apps).
Recap: A central menu that starts with a login then users select different app from menu. I want to pass the connection to the sub-app which has to be a DLL.

As long as you're using .NET, this shouldn't be too difficult. You can create a SqlConnection (for SQL server) or OleDBConnection (for a non-MS database) object and pass it to the DLL.
your menu app would look something like:
