DateTime Formating Question

I am writting to an XML file a date and time from a text file.

The issue I am running into is this...

The XML file show this for the date time
"2005-06-03T13:24:31"
and the text file shows the following
June 3, 2005 1:24:31 PM

So when I do a comparision to see if they are the same it does not work.

How can I make it so what is written to the XML file is the correct info..shown as June 3, 2005 1:24:31 PM or whatever to make the If statement run correctly?
