CDO: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation
Greetings,
I have been trying to get SendMail() to work on my laptop, the way it works on my desktop. My desktop uses broadband cable, my laptop uses Verizon Wireless and throws the folowing exception:
1) Could not access CDO message object
2) Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation
3) The server rejected one or more recipient addreses. The server response was: 533 sorry, that domain isn't in my allowed list of rcp hosts (#5.3.3 - chkuser)
Has anyone got n idea of how to proceed? Do I need to contact my provider and make sure they add my domain name?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Graye,
My latest test show that my Windows program CAN send an email, to a typical email account. So that works fine. The error (which I described in this post, initially) occurs when I use an email address to a cell phone.
For example:
7815551212@vtext.com
is the format for a Verizon cell phone to get text messages. And oddly, running on my desktop PC, my program sends the email fine to the phone. Running from my laptop, the exact same code won't work to a Verizon cell account. Do I need to contact Verizon? Is there something I may have unwittingly installed onto my desktop PC which make it work, that I could install onto my laptop too?
Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

To prove the point, consider trying this.... (if your laptop as an ethernet card): Unplug your desktop from your cable modem and plug the laptop in it's place. Now the laptop will get it's IP address from a pool of IPs that your cable provider has. The email application will most probably work for both an "ordinary" email address and with your vtext.com email address.
If it does, then you know without a doubt that the Verizon system is blocking the email.
Your next step is to call the ISP, but I've been there... After having your trouble ticket escaladed to ever-increasing tiers of tech support, you'll finally find somebody who understands what's going on. But, the answer will be... "We've blocked forwarding from that domain because of spam... I'll submit your request to open it back up again". Then, you'll never hear from them again.
I'm not trying to discourage you.... but it doesn't look pretty. Do the test and let us know what happens.

Thanks for the tip. But could I not ask my ISP to accept the IP address of my laptop too?
I don't know what could be different about my desktop computer. I never registered it, although I did log into the account from my desktop. I think I'll try logging in from my laptop, then trying it again.
Thanks,
Bob
