The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? Presentation layer validation in the BLL question

I have an internal web application that currently used a 1-2 layered architecture. Most of the business logic and database calls are in the code behind, or in some case its a single page model.I'm implementing a new multi layered architecture so the presentation page (PLL), business logic (BLL), and data access (DAL) are separated. I want to make each layer non dependent of the layer above it but how should I validate the PLL form in the BLL to keep the non-dependency integrity? Do I create a validation object of some sort and send it to the BLL? I just want to be able to have multiple PLL's use the same BLL and if a change request comes to me I can just change the BLL and the PLL's will act accordingly. Thanks for any input
