Replace text with an asp.net control (dynamically)

I need to search some text from a database for a specific string and then replace the string with a LinkButton control - and attach a "Click" event handler to it.  How can I accomplish this?

To make things easy, you can use the same handler for all buttons. then in the handler, you could use a case/if statment and adapt the behaviour depending on the text string - in case you need to apply different behaviour depending on what the button "says"!

Yes, that part is perfect, I see I can declare a link button and do:

lnkTop.Command +=new CommandEventHandler(lnkAction_Command);

However, I still need to know how to dynamically add the control to the correct location in a string of text.

Do you mean the button needs to be embedded in the table cell?
Are you using c# or vb.net?

C# - I have a function that returns a string to me.  Within the string I have a mock placeholder like this:

[CONTROLHERE]

I need to say:
if (descText.Contains("[CONTROLHERE]"))
{
   //Replace [CONTROLHERE] with a link button
}

why not add a container object and server side, you just add controls to that container!?

The content has to come from the database, so it has to be done the way I specified above.
