Just use \d for a numeric. [0-9] is the same, but personally, \d (d=digit) is a bit less typing and hence I like it better ;)
Now, the alpha's need to be multiplied and that's the {4}, which must be placed after the part that you want to multiply:
^\d[a-zA-Z]{4}$
