Is the text going to be different for each row?
I see three options:
1) Set the column before the checkbox to be a text column that displays the information you need.
2) OR, Use the ToolTipText value of the column to display a tool tip when the user hover's over the checkbox displaying the information you need.
3) OR, Write a custom control that will do what you need by displaying text before the checkbox. This is by far the hardest and most work of the three options.
