What do I need to do to create a JVM from within C#? The objective is to call functions within a jar file is that's possible. Or at least execute the jar file.

Is there some official documentation that would let me know what runtime and deployment prerequisites are required to use the above code.
Also, can I call classes from a jar file or only execute it's Main method. If that is the case, is there some kind of utility that will let me look inside the jar file?

you can execute any method

jar is just a zip file (containing java class files), theres also a jar utility that comes with the jdk
Guys thanks a lot. Your solutions did help, but half way in, I found a C# native solution to my original problem.
The reason for wanting to create a JVM was to call a Java decrypt function from C#. The Java code was encrypting text and creating a key file using 128 bit AES/CBC/PKCS5Padding and I was not able to extract the key from the file in C#. Finally managed to achieve that: http://www.experts-exchang
