The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

How to create a web application with eclipse

Asked by CrshUndrPrsre in Java Server Pages (JSP), Plug Ins

Tags: create, application, eclipse, web, how

Hi All,

Im trying to develop a web application using eclipse. Its driving me mad because I have spent the last two days (my weekend ruined!!) trying to set it up with little results.

This is the approach I am taking so please correct me if its incorrect or not the best practice.
All of the following is done via eclipse (I havent used windows to create the following folders)

I've set my workspace to tomcat/webapps.
Created a new java project called users in the workspace.
Created a new folder WEB-INF in users.
Created a folder lib and classes within WEB-INF.
Created a folder src in users.
Created a java file called Login in src.

I want all compiled classes to go into the classes folder so I set the "default output folder" to users/WEB-INF/classes. I then get confirmation options from Eclipse:
"The output folder has changed. Do you want to remove all generated resources from the old location /users?"
To which I say "yes".

My folder classes then disappears from my package explorer but its still visible in my windows dir(WEB-INF/classes). Also within my classes folder another WEB-INF folder get created with all of the same sub-folders that I previously created in the parent WEB-INF folder.

Im completely confused as to whats going on.

I have to be doing something wrong. Im new to creating a web application project with eclipse. Any help would be appreciated.
Please dont give me tips on eclipse plug-ins because ive seen this working before via eclispe with no plug-ins.

Btw Im not sure if this is worth mentioning but my web application will be based on struts.

Thanks very much for any help.
