The Solution Rating System
|
|
| With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating. - The Grade of the Solution
- The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
- The Number of Author and Expert Comments
- The Number of Experts Contributing
- The Feedback of the Community
Your Input Matters Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site. If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support. Thank you! |

Asked by rockiroads in Java Server Pages (JSP), Java Server Faces (JSF), Miscellaneous Web Development
Using JavaServer Faces, I am listing the contents of a list using a datatable and creating a button for each row. This button obviously shares the same handler but what I need to determine within the handler is what row was clicked.
The jsp has a add button so what Im doing is adding a new item into the list so when the page renders again it is showing blank text boxes therefore I cannot use some primary key as there would not be one when adding new boxes within the session.
There are multiple columns here so I need to check a number of columns.
I can get this to work easily enough using <h:commandLink and <f:param but the requirement is to use a button, not a link.
Ive spent a fair bit of time trying to sort this out but havent got anywhere. Ive tried using attributes etc but that fails with nulls as the attribute value I set was something within the list. I havent found much info out.
Sample partial code below shows how I can get it working using h:commandLink. I want to use something similar for h:commandButton

<h:commandLink action="#{MyBackingBean.removeHandler}" type="submit" value="Remove" title="RemoveHandler">
<f:param name="f1" value="#{jsplist.field1}"/>
<f:param name="f2" value="#{jsplist.field2}"/>
<f:param name="f3" value="#{jsplist.field3}"/>
</h:commandLink>
