can u post ur HashMapCommand??

by: ioantonPosted on 2009-09-17 at 11:27:41ID: 25359322

I would change
<c:out  value="${commandMap.model["config"].supportDistribution}"/>
to
<c:out  value="${commandMap.model['config'].supportDistribution}"/>

by: dravidnsrPosted on 2009-09-17 at 11:29:40ID: 25359351

For this error pblm is
The checked attribute is without a value. You'll have to set it to something or remove it.

For eg:
you have radio button means that u set as default but u didnt mention the value for the  radio button..

check whether u have given default value for any input ??

Below is the HashMapCommand bean
import java.util.HashMap;
public class HashMapCommand {
      private HashMap<String, Object> model = new HashMap<String, Object>();

      /**
       * @return the model
       */
      public HashMap<String, Object> getModel() {
            return model;
      }

      /**
       * @param model the model to set
       */
      public void setModel(HashMap<String, Object> model) {
            this.model = model;
      }
}

and my controller formbackingobject is,

   protected Object formBackingObject(HttpServletRequest request) throws ServletException {

          HashMapCommand command = new HashMapCommand();
        command.getModel().put("userName", Session.getUserManager().getCurrentUser().getPerson());
        command.getModel().put("userRole", Session.getUserManager().getCurrentUser().convertRolesToString());

          Configuration config;
            String configName = request.getParameter("configName");
            ConfigurationDAO configDAO = new ConfigurationDAOImpl();
            configDAO.setDataSource(Session.getDataSource());
            config = configDAO.getByName(configName);
            command.getModel().put("config", config);
        return command;
    }
}

I also tried,

<c:out  value="${commandMap.model['config'].supportDistribution}"/>
even then i get the same exception.

Please help

is ${commandMap.model["config"].supportDistribution} having  value i think tht dont have value ...
do one think can u remove that
       <input type="text" id="distList" disabled name="distList" > and run

by: dravidnsrPosted on 2009-09-17 at 11:39:08ID: 25359451

or print that value ...

by: radsaPosted on 2009-09-17 at 11:40:06ID: 25359464

The default value means, when the jsp is shown first it will fill the value from the commandMap, so that is why i used value=c:out tag.

by: dravidnsrPosted on 2009-09-17 at 11:40:32ID: 25359474

      <input type="text" id="distList" disabled name="distList" value="${commandMap.model["config"].supportDistribution}">

no need to give c:out ur jsp(jstl) will take that as some scope value ..

check that this 3 possible solution

by: dravidnsrPosted on 2009-09-17 at 11:42:22ID: 25359491

ya that making the pblm check this 3 solution i think ...

ur     <c:out  value="${commandMap.model["config"].supportDistribution}"/> dont have value ....

this is ur error !!

by: dravidnsrPosted on 2009-09-17 at 11:50:05ID: 25359570

after check that u reply or if u got the solution ..
press the accept button(which solution is correct) and  close the  question..

by: radsaPosted on 2009-09-17 at 11:56:34ID: 25359654

I took the value property and now it is throwing this exception

org.apache.jasper.JasperException: /WEB-INF/jsp/modifyConfigManagement.jsp(38,4) "${commandMap.model.['userConfig']}" contains invalid expression(s): javax.el.ELException: Error Parsing: ${commandMap.model.['userConfig']}

I debugged and in the controller, before sending the hashmap, i am able to see the values for userConfig

and line 38 of the jsp is,
<c:set var="userConfig" value="${commandMap.model.['userConfig']}"></c:set>

by: dravidnsrPosted on 2009-09-17 at 12:09:49ID: 25359762

<input type="text" id="distList" disabled name="distList" value="<c:out  value="${commandMap.model["config"].supportDistribution}"/>">

 <input type="text" id="distList" disabled name="distList">

one more tips ....

if u use disabled means that filed  is will not bind that value....
u cant get the  values in controller !!

<input type="text" id="distList" disabled name="distList" value="<c:out  value="${commandMap.model["config"].supportDistribution}"/>">

here using that !!
