how to make a new line for content that set to charset=utf-16?

When the message content of javamail contains japanase character to send it i code like this :
msg.setContent(messageTxt,"text/plain; charset=utf-16");

but the problem is, it can not identify a new line and when I insert \n it also not identify it as a new line. So, when set charset=utf-16, what suppose to be write, for make a newline?
