Question

How to query hibernate for either/or associated criteria?

I want to create an OR between two subcriteria using hibernate.

What I need (which that linked-to solution does not provide) is a way to maintain or get a reference to the sub-criteria objects.  We need access to these criteria objects because we have existing functions which do further complicated specifications for our database queries using these objects.

Criteria pCrit = sess.createCriteria(Person.class); 
 
Criteria clubCrit = pCrit.createCriteria("clubs"); // need to add complicated stuff to this criteria object 
 
// OR (how do I do this?)
 
Criteria hobbyCrit = pCrit.createCriteria("hobby"); // need to add compicated stuff to this criteria object
