Thanks for the link, but How about issue of formatting the report/table/schedule?
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsHello Experts ..
(I am new to this concept)
I am developing a J2EE (web) application, JSP is used as presentation layer and EJBs as the middle tier (business tier?).
The scenario is that user logged in to the application, select a schedule (table with editable fields), made few changes (specify values for the editable fields), then press [print] button.
The application is expected to take the customized schedule, format it, then print the formatted schedule in the client side.
How to address this issue? I want to understand the print architecture, and if there is any useful links/documents for implementing this functionality.
Thanks,

Hi,
If u want to print the contents of the selected fields in a layout or with some contents containing the log etc. as background u can go for the JasperReports.
It is a open source used for generating the pdfs, excel and html reports.
By using it , u generate a pdf and it will be opened on client side using a servlet.
The client may wish to copy the pdf or just print the contents of the pdf.
Thanks and regards,
