Is there anything I have to do to the servlet itself in order to use it in a https environment? Any code I have to add? Or is all the modifications done at the webserver level (add the cert and changing to port 443).
Thanks.

OK...I need to post a followup question. From my servlet I am sending the XML to a https server. But I am getting an error saying "Unable to post certificate expired the XML". Now I am able to hit the https server with my browser so I know its fine. Do I need to have an provision in the java code to allow it to made the https connection?

no change needed to the servlet
the change is needed to the container to support accepting https requests
