We have a java application that runs java SDK 1.6 and also uses JMF to play videos. The OS is windows 2000 pro. The application runs fine for many days and the computer restarts regularly until we always apparently run into a corrupted file. If we start the program from the comment prompt after the apparent corruption arises, we get a message like "error: unalbe to open the configuration file" followed by the path of the executable and some scrambled characters as the name of this unaccessible configuration file. The thing is that if we take the directory containing our executable on the computer that displays the problem and we copy it on a another computer and run it, it runs fine. Hence, it does not appear that the source of the apparent corruption is anywhere in our program or our configuration files, but rather in the operating system (win2000 pro). We have tried re-installing Java, JMF and all other programs running on the computer, but the only way to fix it is to re-install windows. Can anybody help. Thank you Christian
