Need to Receive and retransmit an audio RTP stream using Java

I have been programming in java for awhile but am new to using the Media Framework.  In going over the AVTransmit2/AVReceive2.java code samples I am trying to figure out if I can receive and retransmit the RTP session in real time. I am writing an app that will act as an RTP proxy of sorts. I do not want to have the clients communicate with each other in a peer to peer scenario I would rather open up the ports in my Java server and handle the streams from there. My clients will be using their local machines with another app I wrote (using avtransmit/avreceive) to send the RTP stream over the network. So I need to capture the transmission and then send it to another client(s).

1) does anyone know if this is possible

2) any examples out there or perhaps some direction in getting this done.
