java armstrong number program

Hi guys

Would anybody have any code to calculate any armstrong numbers between any 2 given numbers, done this in vb before but be interested to see how its done in Java.

If you have logic in vb, you can paste it, we try to convert it in java.

I believe this is a pretty good solution :)
it puts the numbers in an arraylist

public getArmstrongNumbers(int start,int stop)
{
  ArrayList<Integer> numbers = new ArrayList<Integer>()
  for(int i=start;i<stop;i++)
     {
        if (isArmstrong(i))
         numbers.add(i);
     }
}
public boolean isArmstrong(int num)
  {
      int org_num = num;
      int check=0,rest;
 
      while (num >0)
      {
          rest = num%10;
          check+= Math.pow(rest,3);
          num/=10;
      }
      return (check == org_num);

off course the above method getArmstrongnumbers should have a return value...

Sorry for my ignorance but I am very new to this launguage, how do I incorperate a return value in the getarmstrongnumbers method and do i need any classes with this code.

Below is a working code.
simply copy past the code below , save it as Armstrong.java  (Capital A)
you have to give 2 arguments.

If you want the 2 numbers to be hardcoded, erase line 4-9,
and replace int n1 = <number1>
int n2 = number 2

Using textpad and code compiles ok but when i try to enter anything the command box disappears. any ideas?

As i said , you need to supply it with arguments;

in textpad , Configure-->Preferences-->tools-->run java application
Parameters should be $BaseName 100 1000
where 100 and 1000 are the boundries you want
